VBS is scheduled for the last week in June (23-27) and the time is 8:00-11:30 a.m. We need volunteers to help make this a successful VBS so anybody who is interested please contact Brittney Rye ASAP!! Each Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. we will gather for an evening worship service. Ladies Lunch at McAlister’s is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10 at 11:30 a.m. We as a church family are in various stages of updating our facilities. In God’s eyes the church is the people and not a place. But because we need a ‘place’ so that the people can meet, we want that place to reflect His values, being conducive to worship and not a hindrance. So that you can know what is going on and can pray, here is the present status: The Roof – Roof repairs have been completed. The Parking Lot – We have contracted to have the parking lot re-paved. Since a discounted price was quoted if we gave the asphalt contractor ‘time flexibility,’ that work will be completed sometime in the relative near future. Designated funds were available for this project due to the gifts of God’s people. Upgrading The Interior – A team has been assembled to assess what areas we need to address in order to upgrade the interior of our worship center. That team is co-chaired by Betty Gentry and Bill Reeves, and includes Barbara Anderson, Iris Gregory, Robbie Coblentz, and Don Senter. In the coming months they will make recommendations with cost estimates. At that time the deacons, finance committee and congregation will determine the next course of action as to how to address those recommendations. We are taking orders for a DVD of this Easter Musical. If you would be interested in purchasing a DVD contact Charlie Murphey (323-9333) or e-mail the church office at faithstarkville@aol.com. Angel Food June menus are available and your are invited to purchase following the worship service. You may purchase following the service on Wednesday, June 4 and Sunday, June 8. The public may purchase on Thursday, June 5 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Any Youth or Adult interested in going on a mission trip to Jacksonville, FL from July 13 - July 18th, please see Matthew Rye for details. The group that goes will make a positive impact on the lives of the homeless and low-income of Jacksonville, FL. We will put our faith into action by serving local agencies with our volunteer support. The group will also spend a day in Orlando for some good old fashion fun. The Youth Group is selling Boston Butts for $30.00 to raise funds for the mission trip to Jacksonville, FL. Please see Matthew Rye to purchase one. You can pick up your order on June 21st from 11am-1pm at the church. The Boston Butts are Fully Cooked....Hickory Smoked....Ready to Eat and Sealed in plastic for protection.
